Episode 6: The Adventure of the Body in the Barrow
1901. A picturesque town on the English coast. Holmes and Watson are taking a much-needed holiday, only to encounter, in this most unlikely of spots, a resurgence of an old acquaintance and the return of a name from the past, the sinister organisation known as the Lighthouse.

Sherlock Holmes Untold is a serialised audio drama comprising eight half-hour episodes, released as weekly downloads. This episode is released on Wednesday 5 November 2025.

Recorded on: 19-22 June 2023
Recorded at: The Soundhouse

Actor Richard Earl said: "Watson suggests that Holmes and Watson go for a little break by the coast. And to Watson's surprise, Sherlock says yes. It's like best mates going for a break. It's going to be just like old times. But then of course, whenever one sees a mysterious stranger running in the direction of Sherlock Holmes, you think, oh well, here's the next one!"

Writer Jonathan Barnes said: "We’re approaching the end game at this point! This is set quite late in the Holmes and Watson chronology, when Holmes really is starting to consider retirement. The Norfolk coast is a great fit for Holmes at this time. A little wild and a long way from London. I'm from Norfolk, and I'm drawn back there again and again.

"Doyle as Watson makes a reference to the contents of the English barrow, a little tip-off which led me to come up with this. It's a story at the end of the day about frailty, people making mistakes, and how those frailties could be exploited."
