It’s the near future, and mankind has expanded its presence in space. Maintaining law and order beyond Earth is the responsibility of the International Space Police Force, known colloquially as the Star Cops. Their leader is Commander Nathan Spring. 

First seen on TV in 1987, the Star Cops have now returned for a series of audio adventures at Big Finish Productions. The six-part mini-series Blood Moon, released monthly from January to June 2024, features original TV cast members David Calder (Commander Nathan Spring), Linda Newton (Chief Superintendent Pal Kenzy) and Trevor Cooper (Inspector Colin Devis). 

Written by Una McCormack, Star Cops – Blood Moon: Troubled Waters is the third in the mini-series. It follows on from the action of the first two episodes while presenting the officers with a thrilling new case to solve.

Writer Una McCormack said: “Writing the third adventure was something of a juggling act – resolving what had come before and setting up the end of my script so that the next story is ready to go. 

“Without giving away too much of the story arc, Devis and Paul head to Earth to assist the Spanish police with a missing person case, and Devis butts heads with anarchists. 

“It’s an absolute pleasure to write lines for actors of this calibre. I didn’t make it to the recording, sadly, but I hope they enjoyed themselves with the script. I can’t wait to hear it.” 

Also in the cast list for Troubled Waters are Philip Olivier, Lynsey Murrell, Rosa Coduri, Leon Parris and Norah Lopez Holden.
