Martha Jones and Gwen Cooper in Torchwood - Dissected
Freema Agyeman makes her long-awaited debut on a Big Finish audio production, as she co-stars with Eve Myles for a real-time adventure and an autopsy with a difference.
Since becoming the Tenth Doctor’s companion, Martha Jones has been through a lot. She met witches in the time of Shakespeare, travelled the Earth to save the planet from the Master, joined UNIT and even put in a stint with Captain Jack Harkness and his Cardiff Torchwood team.
Now Martha is reunited with her old friend Gwen, and Freema Agyeman reprises the role she first played in 2007, in a brand new Torchwood adventure, released today.
Torchwood: Dissected is now available to buy at £7.99 as a digital download or £9.99 as a collector’s edition CD.
Gwen Cooper turns up on Martha Jones’s doorstep with a dead body in tow. She needs to ask one final favour of her. And to find out why they stopped being friends.
A lot’s happened to Torchwood since Martha left. A lot’s happened to Martha since she left Torchwood. And there’s something very odd about the dead body Gwen’s brought with her.
Tonight she's going to be getting more answers than she bargained for.
Actor Freema Agyeman said: “I have no more intel than anyone else has about what has happened in Martha's life since we last met her, so it was really great for me to read this script, and see that she has carried on in the world that meant so much to her. She's not one for flitting about. She does have this little fire inside of her but she has always been a very loyal person.
“I love that it's just her and Gwen throughout this whole story. They get to go on their journey. There's so much ground that has to be covered, there's so much history there, between them and their relationship.”
Actor Eve Myles agreed: “Freema is great. I was introduced to her on Torchwood, of course, and we've done a lot of conventions together, and a really kooky film, Eat Locals, where we played vampire girls. And we've always kept in touch.
“So when you get a script like this, and it's led by two females, you've got to jump on board straight away and enjoy it as much as possible. It's good to be back together.”
Torchwood: Dissected, written by Tim Foley, and starring Freema Agyeman and Eve Myles, is now available to own at £7.99 as a download or £9.99 as a collector’s edition CD. All CD purchases unlock a download option via the Big Finish app and the Big Finish website.
