Professor Bernice Summerfield (Lisa Bowerman) has joined the Eternity Club, an elite society of explorers based on a remote asteroid. 

But life here is far from peaceful, as the 26th-century archaeologist finds out in The New Adventures of Bernice Summerfield: The Eternity Club, her latest series of full-cast audio dramas. 

In the first of this month’s two new half-hour episodes, a disagreement between Starll (Dan Starkey) and Altazar (Shai Matheson) risks spiralling into an interstellar war. Then, in the second story, Benny journeys with Secretary Pym (Nickolas Grace) into the depths of the club’s cloakroom.

Rhubarb 

A small argument between a Sontaran and a Draconian escalates into an interstellar war. Who is manipulating events and can Bernice Summerfield avert disaster? 

Foley said: “The half hour structure of these episodes gives this series sitcom vibes. I don't mean that in the context of the audience laughing at us, but the idea that there is a form of normality, and then one minor thing happens which causes another thing to happen, and chaos builds into something potentially catastrophic. Benny has to bring all the pieces together.”

A threat emerges from deep inside the hidden depths of the Eternity Club. Professor Summerfield and Secretary Pym must voyage into the unknown. 

Foley said: “I’ll admit I'm a sucker for an ‘inside the TARDIS’ story. There’s lots of joy to be had there. I pitched very early on the idea of a two-hander with Benny and Secretary Pym covering the mystery at the heart of the club. On our strange asteroid which is a club, of course there's going to be a cloakroom. And there are things to be discovered there.” 

Also featuring in these two episodes are Victoria Gee as the Suspension of Geren, Derek Elroy as Derek the Tree, Naana Agyei-Ampadu as Grizella, Simon Kane as 312, Dianne Pilkington as Nurse, and Niamh Cusack as the Oldest.
