Counter-Measures - Series 3 Details
The third series of our popular Doctor Who spin-off Counter-Measures will be released in July, and we can reveal details of the four stories. Counter-Measures stars Simon Williams, Pamela Salem and Karen Gledhill as the crack team from Remembrance of the Daleks, Hugh Ross as their boss Toby Kinsella, and Philip Pope as Toby's right-hand man Templeton.
Changing of the Guard by Matt Fitton continues directly from the Series Two cliffhanger of Sins of the Fathers, with Sir Toby fighting for his career. Meanwhile the Counter-Measures team is fighting a very different threat… Ben Bishop (Whitechapel) guest stars as Kenny, while Richard Hope (Doctor Who: The Hungry Earth, Cold Blood, The Wedding of River Song, Dinosaurs on a Spaceship) is William Heaton.
The Concrete Cage by Justin Richards finds the team investigating mysterious incidents at a tower block that is under construction. Michael Troughton (The New Statesman, Breathless) is Roderick Purton, and Janet Henfrey (The Singing Detective, Doctor Who: The Curse of Fenric is the enigmatic Old Lady.
The Forgotten Village is the Big Finish writing debut of Ken Bentley, best known for his work as director for us. When Allison’s father falls ill, Sir Toby sends her home to look after him. But what transpires is one of Counter-Measures’ most dangerous assignments. Rupert Evans (Hellboy, The Village) is Jack Maddocks, Tim Bentinck (The Archers) is Mr Williams, while Graham Seed (The Archers) is Mr Bevan.
The series ends with Unto the Breach by John Dorney, in which Rachel, Gilmore and Toby must go undercover in the Eastern Bloc to investigate an alien that has fallen into enemy hands. George Layton (Minder, It Ain’t Half Hot Mum, Doctor Who: The Space Pirates) plays Lehne, Toby Longworth (Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace) is Werner and Anjella Mackintosh is Jager.
