A night at the opera for Torchwood’s Ianto and Tosh
Gareth David-Lloyd and Naoko Mori reprise their roles as Torchwood agents Ianto Jones and Toshiko Sato, in a brand new full-cast audio drama due for release in June 2020.
Slotting into a monthly release schedule that includes tales starring Burn Gorman, Rowena Cooper, and Sir Michael Palin, Torchwood: Dinner and a Show is a spooky story of mezzo-sopranos and monsters.
Penned by Gareth David-Lloyd himself, this adventure is proof, if any were needed, that Ianto Jones does indeed know his arias from his elbow.
Torchwood: Dinner and a Show is now available for pre-order as a collector’s edition CD at £10.99 or as a download at £8.99 from www.bigfinish.com.
It’s February 14th and Owen is a no-show for Toshiko’s not-Valentine’s-Valentine’s Night at the opera.
Worse, when Ianto turns up he has bad news for Toshiko, for Cardiff and for fans of classical music – the opera is full of aliens. The doors are bolted, there’s no way out, and this could be the final curtain.
Producer James Goss said: “Ianto Jones and Toshiko Sato find aliens have come to Cardiff Opera House - are they really just there for the music?
“Gareth David-Lloyd's written a script that's heart-warming and silly and moving and just a little bit experimental. Mostly it's there to give us a brilliant hour in the company of Ianto and Toshiko. Warning: Contains Opera.”
Please note that Torchwood contains adult material and may not be suitable for younger listeners.
Torchwood: Dinner and a Show is now available for pre-order as a collector’s edition CD at £10.99 or on download from the Big Finish website at £8.99.
Subscribers to the Big Finish Torchwood range can save money by pre-ordering a bundle of forthcoming stories. A six-release bundle is £60 on CD or £50 on download, or you can save even more money by ordering all twelve Torchwood releases together at £110 on CD or £94 on download.
Big Finish’s latest monthly Torchwood audio series kicks off in April with Tropical Beach Sounds and Other Relaxing Seascapes #4, read by Sir Michael Palin.
In May, Burn Gorman returns as Torchwood’s Owen Harper, in creepy medical story Iceberg, followed in June by Gareth David-Lloyd's self-penned adventure, and then Rowena Cooper is back as the redoubtable Queen Victoria for July’s tale, Save Our Souls.
Please note that Big Finish is currently operating a digital-first release schedule. The mailout of collector’s edition CDs will be delayed, but all purchases of this release unlock a digital copy that can be immediately downloaded or played on the Big Finish app from the release date.
