When the Sontarans first appeared in Doctor Who 50 years ago, they encountered the Third Doctor and Sarah Jane Smith. Half a century later, there’s a rematch in store, as the Time Lord and his best friend face the cloned menaces, created by Robert Holmes in The Time Warrior, in a brand-new audio adventure from Big Finish Productions – The Children of the Future. 

Tim Treloar features as the Doctor, with original series star Elisabeth Sladen’s daughter Sadie Miller taking on the part of the beloved companion. Dan Starkey plays the Sontarans.

The Brigadier is used to the Doctor acting strangely, but this time there’s something decidedly different about the whole affair. As he looks into the Time Lord’s odd activities outside of UNIT, there’s a mystery that’ll take Lethbridge-Stewart to a site very familiar to Sarah Jane Smith.  

Can the Brigadier trust his old friend? Who are his new mysterious allies? And is the future of humanity really at stake? A Sontaran threat could spell the end of their long-standing friendship… and the entire planet!

The cast also includes Jon Culshaw (Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart), Nicholas Boulton (Captain Saint), Lucy Goldie (Sergeant Moss) and Jeremy Ang Jones (Stanley).
