The Sacrifice of Sherlock Holmes
Fresh from his latest case in the Worlds of Big Finish, there's news of more Sherlock Holmes for next year...
Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson are returning to Big Finish, with Nicholas Briggs and Richard Earl in studio this year for two separate productions:
Following such hits as The Judgement of Sherlock Holmes and The Ordeals of Sherlock Holmes, the Master Detective is played again in The Sacrifice of Sherlock Holmes by Nicholas Briggs:
"It’s going to be quite a Holmesian year for me, what with this exciting new box set and the recording of the much anticipated Doctor Who novel dramatisation All Consuming Fire! I’m really looking forward to it all. Constant variety is the favourite aspect of my job at Big Finish, so from time to time I really enjoy not worrying about being an executive producer or writer or director and just getting behind the microphone to play Sherlock Holmes."
Back in the director's chair for the Jonathan Barnes-scripted The Sacrifice of Sherlock Holmes is Ken Bentley:
"I couldn't be more excited that Big Finish have given us the opportunity to explore this magnificent world once more. The scale of Barnes's storytelling was evident in the first box set. Such were the many layers and interconnected threads of story that it always felt to me as if we'd only reach the end of the line if it became a trilogy. I can't say much for fear of spoilers, but what I can promise is that questions will be answered."
Doctor Who - All Consuming Fire is released in December 2015 as part of the run of Doctor Who - Novel Adaptations, and The Sacrifice of Sherlock Holmes due in August 2016 (and currently available at pre-order prices saving £5 on CD or Download).
