Autumn, 1900. The lives of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson are in a state of change. The doctor has moved out of Baker Street, waiting anxiously to marry his new love, the American actress, Genevieve Dumont. Holmes has been left restless and fretful, eager for mystery and distraction.
A secret code and a brutal murder promise to bring the two men back into each other’s orbit. But there is more to the investigation than first appears to be the case. Something greater seems to be at work, moving dextrously behind the scenes: a force in the London underworld known only as The Seamstress of Peckham Rye.
As previously announced, Nicholas Briggs returns as Sherlock Holmes with Richard Earl as Dr John Watson and Lucy Briggs-Owen as Genevive Dumont, alongside a captivating cast of India Fisher (Charlotte Pollard, Masterchef), Anjella Mackintosh (The Ninth Doctor Adventures, Timeslip), James Joyce (UNIT, Donna Noble: Kidnapped!), Glen McCready (Missy, The Paternoster Gang) and Mark Elstob (Emmerdale, The Prisoner).
Actor Richard Earl said: “It’s brilliantly epic and at the same time very touchingly domestic, in that Watson is just trying to get his private life sorted out – as always! – to the point where it’s so funny it's close to farce! Yet at the same time Holmes is dealing with somebody so evil they are making Moriarty look like a shoplifter – somebody who is taking over the London underworld, and doing it so well that they win the admiration of Holmes in a way that he never admired Moriarty.”
