Jeremiah Bourne in Time
With two of our Big Finish Originals released, today we're looking ahead to the next original audio drama, and it's a time travel adventure with a twist.
July 2018 sees the release of Jeremiah Bourne in Time, a time travel fantasy brimming with thrills, wit and charm. The series is being released as part of the Big Finish Originals range which was launched this year to celebrate the award-winning audio drama company’s 20th anniversary.
Young Jeremiah (Sebastian Armesto) has a special gift - he can move between the past, present and future, and he doesn’t even need a time machine. On his journeys Jeremiah will confront mysteries from the distant past, and a buried secret from his own life.
The series has been created and written by actor/writer Nigel Planer, known for a host of acting roles including offbeat comedy The Young Ones, Shine on Harvey Moon and Inside No 9, and whose previous writing credits include King and Castle and The Comic Strip.
Nigel says; “Jeremiah Bourne in Time is a very personal take on how I see the world. I’ve been working on it since about 1857 and I think it’s just about ready to share.”
Joining Nigel in Jeremiah Bourne are a host of British comedy legends, including Celia Imrie (Bridget Jones, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel), Tim McInnerny (Notting Hill), Christopher Ryan (who starred with Nigel in the iconic series The Young Ones), Siobhan Redmond (Alice Through the Looking Glass) and Sophie Thompson (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows).
“Nigel Planer first suggested Jeremiah Bourne to me when we worked together on The First Men in the Moon, almost a year ago,’ says producer David Richardson. ‘He sent me some early drafts of the script, and I thought it was delightful. Funny, warm, complex, dark… and just a riveting ride, in the company of a character you really wanted to spend time with. I’m so thrilled we’ve had the opportunity to make this outstanding and exciting series at Big Finish.”
Jeremiah Bourne is a boy with a remarkable gift. He can travel in time. Not by using a time machine, or stepping through a dimensional portal. It just happens to him, as though by accident. One minute he’s in the present day, the next, he’s a hundred years in the past, standing in the London of 1910.
Jeremiah Bourne in Time, a four-hour box set, will be released in July 2018 and is available for pre-order, priced at £17 a download, rising to £20 after its release.
The complete Big Finish Originals range is also available in a pre-order bundle of £120, as well as each series being available as individual downloads.
