The Third Doctor and Jo Grant will battle the Daleks again in 2017, in a third volume of Doctor Who: The Third Doctor Adventures starring Tim Treloar and Katy Manning.

‘It’s been so rewarding to see how Doctor Who fans have embraced these new Third Doctor stories,’ says producer David Richardson. ‘We knew Tim’s performance (and it is a performance, not a mere impersonation) as the Third Doctor was extraordinary - and it’s clear that listeners feel the same way too!’

Volume 3 will again feature two four-part full cast adventures. One of them is yet to be announced, but The Conquest of Far has already been recorded - taking place immediately after Planet of the Daleks, it finds the travellers still fighting the Doctor’s oldest enemies.

Writer, director and Voice of the Daleks Nicholas Briggs says: ‘I imagined what might have happened if Terrance Dicks had said to Terry Nation, after Planet of the Daleks, “Actually, can we have another one straight away, Terry?”. So the Doctor and Jo are heading back to Earth, as per Jo’s request at the end of Planet of the Daleks, when suddenly they get diverted… and find themselves on another planet the Daleks have conquered. But this time, it’s very different. It’s another time. Another war. It’s about a people abandoned by Earth and subjugated by the Daleks. It’s about the relationship between a husband and wife separated by a terrible conflict and how the Doctor and Jo get caught up in it. It also has as much of the authentic Terry Nation flavour as I could respectfully muster, with plenty of Daleks exterminating and shouting orders! It’s a romp and a war story with a very dark, emotional heart.’

The cast includes George Watkins as resistance fighter Delralis. ‘George might not yet be a familiar name, but he’s a phenomenal actor,’ says David. ‘He also happens to be the nephew of a certain Peter Davison… proving that talent runs in the family!’
