Big Finish Productions once again dominates the Audio Drama category of annual Scribe Awards — having been honoured with all five nominations!
Nominations for the 2024 Scribe Awards, as presented by the International Association of Media Tie-in Writers, have been revealed. The winners will be announced at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday 26 July 2024.
The Scribe Awards acknowledge and celebrate excellence in licensed tie-in novels and audio dramas based on TV shows, movies and games.
Big Finish Productions is guaranteed a win in the Audio Drama category, with writers in various Doctor Who ranges having received all of the nominations, as follows:
- Doctor Who - The Eleventh Doctor Chronicles: Everywhere and Anywhere All's Fair by Max Kashevsky
- The Robots 6 Face to Face by John Dorney
- Doctor Who - The Fifth Doctor Adventures: In the Night Pursuit of the Nightjar by Tim Foley
- Doctor Who - The Eleventh Doctor Chronicles: Everywhere and Anywhere Sins of the Flesh by Alfie Shaw
- Doctor Who - The Eleventh Doctor Chronicles: Everywhere and Anywhere Spirit of the Season by Georgia Cook
Big Finish listeners can now get all the nominated titles at a discounted price for a limited time only, plus selected bundle deals. (These offers expire at 23:59, UK time, on 21 July 2024.)
Georgia Cook said: "I’m so delighted, first to be nominated among such amazing writers and stories, but also to be sitting alongside both other episodes from Everywhere and Anywhere. The whole gang got in!"
Max Kashevsky said: "All's Fair was actually my first full-cast script, so I love that I can call this a 100% success rate for now! I poured everything into this: big surprises, bigger laughs, and the biggest heartbreak. But it's hard to feel a sense of competition, because looking at this list just gives me a sense of awe at the incredible breadth of what Doctor Who can do."
Alfie Shaw said: "Utterly delighted that all of Everywhere and Anywhere has been nominated. Getting to work with Max and Georgia on their amazing scripts, as well as getting to write a story for the villains that got me into Doctor Who, was a brilliant experience. So proud of the entire team on this and to have our names up there with our talented friends and colleagues."
Tim Foley said: "Delighted to be on the shortlist with a bunch of brilliant writers. Pursuit of the Nightjar is a story about one of the Doctor's inspirations, and I'm inspired every day by the wonderful casts and crews of Big Finish Productions. Thanks especially to David Richardson and John Dorney, who've kept me hooked with the Fifth Doctor Adventures range."
John Dorney said: "Face to Face was a bit of a dream project for me so I’m glad it went down as well as it did. Very honoured to be nominated for a Scribe award for it, but even more honoured to be so as part of an amazing list of brilliant writers I love and admire."
