Doctor Who - The War Doctor: Only the Monstrous by Nicholas Briggs and Doctor Who - The Tenth Doctor Adventures: Death and the Queen by James Goss have both been shortlisted in the 2017 Audio Drama category at the 2017 Audio Publishers Association Awards (sometimes known as "The Audies").

This is a hugely unexpected honour, and coming so soon after Doctor Who - Absent Friends winning at the 2017 BBC Audio Drama Awards comes as a tribute to the creative efforts and hard work that go into the productions, with a special word for the much-missed Sir John Hurt's reprising his War Doctor character for Big Finish in performances that brought pleasure to many.

As producer David Richardson comments: "What an amazing surprise - not just one nomination but two, in a hotly contested major category. They are very different but brilliant stories with absolutely stellar casts., with stunning sound design and music by Howard Carter. Good luck everyone!"
