Ace and Mr Colchester meet again
Sophie Aldred and Paul Clayton butt heads in a brand-new Torchwood audio drama, released today from Big Finish Productions.
A sinister mining company are causing trouble in India, and have attracted unwanted attention – from a charity CEO with a rebellious streak, and a hard-headed agent of Torchwood.
Sabotage marks the third encounter between Ace and Mr Colchester, after 2021’s The Red List and 2022’s Death in Venice. And this time, they’re not meeting on good terms.
Vultura has started mining some mountains in a state in India. The local villagers are displaced into a resettlement camp, and are retaliating. Brought in to stop the sabotage is Mr Colchester, who finds that the camp is overseen by Ace. Who is causing the damage? His suspicions are aroused. Ace always was good with explosives.
Torchwood: Sabotage is now available to own as a collector’s edition CD (+ download for just £10.99) or as a digital download only (for £8.99), exclusively here.
Sophie Aldred said: “It’s been great to have another look at what Ace is up to with her charity, relating to a subject very dear to my own heart – environmental pollution and the future of the planet. Ace has always been righteous, and it’s been wonderful to play her doing quite nefarious deeds, but for a good cause. The Nitro-9 is out in force!"
Paul Clayton added: “Sophie and I have made two adventures together before, and we have great fun in the studio. With this one, it’s really nice to change the dynamic between Ace and Mr Colchester. He's quite frank, no-nonsense, and in this adventure we have him being more passionate – we’ve been able to do a bit of shouting acting!”
The cast also includes Shaheen Khan (Doctor Who: Demons of the Punjab), Anant Varman (Living), and Tom Hanson (Brassic, The Outlaws).
Torchwood contains adult material and may not be suitable for younger listeners.
Sabotage is also available as part of a six-release Torchwood – Monthly Range pre-order bundle for just £60 (collector’s edition CD + download) or £50 (download only). A 12-release Torchwood bundle is also available for just £110 (collector’s edition CD + download) or £96 (download only).
All the above prices include the special pre-order discount and are subject to change after general release.
