A FAB Spy-Fi Adventure
Crime is a thing of the past! From the worlds of Gerry Anderson comes First Action Bureau – Damaged Goods, a brand-new audio novel, released today.
By the 2060s, the Earth is largely free from crime, thanks to the efforts of the First Action Bureau. Using decades of collected data and quantum artificial intelligence, the Bureau are able to predict criminal activity – and prevent it ever taking place.
First Action Bureau is an Anderson spy-fi series created by Jamie Anderson and Nicholas Briggs, which began in 2020 with a full-cast audio drama adventure. The Bureau returns today with Damaged Goods, an audiobook reading of a brand-new novel, written by Richard James and performed by Genevieve Gaunt (Cunk On Life, Knightfall).
Damaged Goods continues the story of new Bureau agent Nero Jones; as she carries out her dangerous missions, Nero learns surprising truths about her mysterious employer and her own identity.
First Action Bureau: Damaged Goods, which runs for approximately nine hours of exciting sci-fi adventure, is now available to own as a digital download for just £16.99, exclusively here.
Nero Jones has led a troubled life, but things are about to get a whole lot worse... Press-ganged into joining First Action Bureau, a shadowy organisation set up to counter terrorist threats, Nero finds herself thrown into a range of increasingly exciting missions under the guidance of the mysterious Nathan Drake.
As she learns more about the Bureau, she's haunted by half-forgotten memories that lead her to question everything she knows. Just what is real and what is fake? As she delves deeper into the Bureau's history, she comes to a startling conclusion; nothing is true!
The author Richard James is known for his work across a range of Gerry Anderson series, including the Space Precinct and Five Star Five novels, as well as his original Victorian detective series Bowman of the Yard.
James said: “I am so excited to see the release of Damaged Goods as an audio book, all the more so because it’s read by the wonderful Genevieve Gaunt! Genevieve played the lead role, Nero Jones, in the audio adventures that were made and released during the COVID lockdowns, so, as this book deals with Nero’s childhood, it seemed natural to ask her to return to the role.
“Listeners can expect a thrill ride of an adventure set in a dystopian future where no one can be trusted. Young Nero Jones is recruited for a number of missions by a shadowy spy agency that seem somehow to be able to predict the future. Trouble is, it throws up some troubling questions concerning Nero’s past…”
