Producer Heather Challands said: "One thing that was very apparent when I came on to the Gallifrey range was how well-loved it is by the listeners.
"Gallifrey has introduced us to so many different characters, timelines, conflicts and so much creativity over the years that it only felt right to celebrate the 20th anniversary by revisiting some old favourites. A small slice of a very storied history, explored by four brand new stories set from the earliest days in the Citadel to deep in the heart of the Time War."
Writer Gary Russell said: "To everyone who’s ever asked the question, 'What’s your favourite thing about your eight years at Big Finish?' my answer has always been: creating Gallifrey. It’s the series that encapsulated everything I would ever want to do on audio with a Doctor Who spin-off. It was magnificent fun to do, with great actors, great characters, brilliant writers.
"Echoes Through Eternity was a nice opportunity to show people who are really familiar with Narvin and have maybe forgotten those early days how different a character he was. Narvin is the ultimate antihero who has found a path towards the light."
Actor Seán Carlsen added: "I’ve been playing Narvin for twenty years now, and it's incredible that we're still here doing this. It’s testament to the fanbase – as long as they want us to keep making Gallifrey and as long as writers keep coming up with these brilliant scripts, we'll keep on doing it. And there are still so many more adventures to be had...
"Never mind the Oasis reunion – me and Gary getting back together to do some Gallifrey is a lovely reunion from a personal point of view. I’m really excited about that."
