For The Love Of StoriesBig Finish produce fantastic full-cast audio dramas for CD and download.

Set in 1930s Britain, The Scarifyers is a series of comedic tales of supernatural intrigue and adventure. They follow ghost story writer Professor Dunning, who was a sceptic until he teamed up with MI-13's DI Lionheart and Harry Crow, and found himself facing all manner of bizarre phenomena.

The range of full-cast audio dramas, produced by Bafflegab Productions, debuted at Big Finish in 2006 and starred Terry Molloy, Nicholas Courtney and David Warner.

Now three audiobook adventures in the Scarifyers series are available to download from www.bigfinish.com for just £8.99 each. Two of these are read by Terry Molloy (who played Dunning in the original Scarifyers adventures, and is well-known to Doctor Who fans for his portrayal of Davros), and the third is read by regular Doctor Who Sontaran actor Dan Starkey

The three rip-roaring tales are:

A Dinner Date with Death by Roland Moore, read by Terry Molloy

When a series of unusual gangland murders rock Soho’s underworld, Lionheart and Dunning are on the case. The victims appear to have wasted away, starving to death in a matter of days. But what could cause such a thing?

Our intrepid pair find themselves in a world of crackpot diets, fake spiritualists and gangsters' molls as they follow the trail to the most dangerous man in London, Lionel Stackley.

What is Stackley’s secret? Why is Dunning suddenly so very hungry? And will our heroes survive A DINNER DATE WITH DEATH…?

An American Werewolf in Ludlow by Tom Crowley, read by Terry Molloy

Dunning and Crow of MI-13 are investigating an impossibly splattery murder near the Royal Artillery Barracks when they’re surprised by the arrival of a new ally: Special Agent Diggs of the FBI. Diggs has been following a series of similarly savage slayings all the way from Massachusetts and can find only one connection: a squad of American soldiers, recently arrived in Woolwich.

But the Americans aren’t talking, least of all their hawkish commanding officer, General Mason. Does he know more than he’s letting on, or not even that much? Why are MI-11’s military intelligence goons sniffing around the case? And can Crow and Dunning trust their new friend from the bureau?

Sinister intrigue, nail-biting action and pork pies await this uneasy alliance on the trail of AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LUDLOW.

The Temple of Kurpannga by Stephen Keyworth, read by Dan Starkey

Harry Crow is feeding the ducks when he’s interrupted by the most boring archaeologist in the world, Michael Doyle. Despite his deeply forgettable face, Doyle has been cursed to transform into Kurpannga, the Devil Dingo, awful Harbinger of the Apocalypse.

The transformation is almost certainly unstoppable – but also very, very slow. Crow and Dunning have just twelve months to reverse the curse and save the world. They must journey into the Dreamtime, confront the Ancient Ones and visit the terrifying and badly-lit Temple of Kurpannga, stopping only for a couple of pints at the Chandos.

Reality bends, trousers disappear and the world definitely starts to end a bit, in the hilarious new high-stakes Scarifyers adventure that is THE TEMPLE OF KURPANNGA.

Producer Simon Barnard said: “It’s been a while since we released the last Scarifyers adventure, but I’m continually asked when we’re making a new one. So here are not one, but three all-new stories for MI-13’s Lionheart, Harry Crow and Professor Dunning, audiobooks this time, narrated by Professor Dunning himself, Terry Molloy, and Big Finish legend Dan Starkey

“And with three new writers too – it’s been an absolute joy seeing what the combined talents of Roland Moore (Fallen, Land Girls), Tom Crowley (Wooden Overcoats) and Stephen Keyworth (Radio 4’s The Princess Bride and Marathon Man) brought to the Scarifyers universe… terrifying tales of American werewolves, East End gangsters and Aboriginal Harbingers of the Apocalypse!”

The Scarifyers: A Dinner Date with Death, An American Werewolf in Ludlow, and The Temple of Kurpannga are now available to purchase from the Big Finish website, as digital downloads only, for £8.99 each.
