Reflections of Who
Story details are revealed for Time War – Uncharted: Reflections, a brand-new box set of audio drama starring Paul McGann and some familiar faces, due for release in October.
The Doctor and his great-grandson Alex have been reunited amid the Time War. Splintered timelines draw them ever closer to another fellow traveller. Does Cass’s destiny lie in the TARDIS?
As the Time War rages, the Doctor enters uncharted territory – where any ‘friends’ they meet might not be what they seem...
The Eighth Doctor (Paul McGann) is notoriously reluctant to take part in the Time War, but its universe-spanning repercussions are becoming increasingly hard to escape, in Time War – Uncharted: Reflections, a box set of four thrilling audio episodes.
Following on from the cliffhanger ending of 2023’s box set Cass, the Doctor is still travelling with his great grandson Alex (Sonny McGann), but their friend Cass (Emma Campbell-Jones) – the starship pilot first seen in 2013 TV minisode The Night of the Doctor – is missing, lost somewhere in time and space.
Also featuring in Time War – Uncharted: Reflections are Hattie Morahan and Conrad Westmaas (who Big Finish listeners will know as Eighth Doctor companions Helen and C’rizz), here playing characters called the Neighbour and the Captain. Who exactly these characters are is one of the many mysteries that the Doctor will have to solve.
Doctor Who: Time War – Uncharted: Reflections is available to pre-order now for just £24.99 (collector’s edition CD + download) or £19.99 (download only), exclusively here.
The four episodes in this box set are:
Nowhere, Never by Katharine Armitage
Cass is lost. In her place, a suburban housewife counting the hours until her family returns. But terrifying air raids are ripping through her calm.
The Doctor and Alex are trapped - patients in a strange hospital run by a fearsome Matron. They've both been injured in a war, but neither remembers exactly which war...
They all soon realise that time is not on their side.
The Road Untravelled by Tim Foley
The Doctor, Alex and Cass find themselves on board a strange ship in an even stranger environment.
It’s a place where friends might be enemies, or worse. Where even time cannot be relied upon. And something is out in the Void, following them. Their troubles are only just beginning...
Cass-cade by James Moran
Cass is falling through the timestream of the Universe, splintered in chronology. She keeps encountering the Doctor and Alex, but for them, it's the first time they've met her, each time.
Cass must fight to centre herself, fight for her existence, and fight for her friends to even remember her.
Borrow or Rob by Tim Foley
The Doctor and friends are traversing the Void, pursued by unknown forces – and their grip on reality is becoming ever more tenuous.
As the enemy boards their ship, Alex and Cass edge closer to the truth. And the Doctor faces the consequences of his choices...
The cast of Time War – Uncharted: Reflections also includes Amara Karan (who listeners will recognise from Doctor Who episode The God Complex as well as Lucky Man and The Darjeeling Limited) making her Big Finish debut, as well as Dempsey Bovell, Jon-Paul Rowden, Helen Goldwyn, Nicholas Khan, Holly Jackson Walters, and regular Doctor Who monster voice Dan Starkey.
Script editor Matt Fitton said: “We are back with the Eighth Doctor in the Time War, where he has picked up not one, but two rather unexpected companions! To begin with, the TARDIS crew is separated: while the Doctor and Alex languish in a military hospital plagued by air raids, Cass finds herself in what seems to be 1950s suburbia, with a very friendly neighbour. Their journey back together crosses one of the Time War’s most dangerous fronts – a Void which leads them into uncharted territory.
“We gave the writers free rein to play with the strangeness of the Time War, and they fully embraced the challenge! Cass and Alex are put through the wringer, as time and reality shift around them. The Doctor can no longer be sure who his friends and enemies are, and by the end of this series, things have changed for the TARDIS crew which will have huge repercussions to come!”
