For The Love Of StoriesBig Finish produce fantastic full-cast audio dramas for CD and download.

The Doctor and his great-grandson Alex have been reunited amid the Time War. Splintered timelines draw them ever closer to another fellow traveller. Does Cass’s destiny lie in the TARDIS?

As the Time War rages, the Doctor enters uncharted territory – where any ‘friends’ they meet might not be what they seem...

The Eighth Doctor (Paul McGann) is pulled further into the Time War – very much against his will – in Time War – Uncharted: Reflections, a box set of four exciting audio adventures.

He’s travelling with his great-grandson Alex (Sonny McGann) and the starship pilot Cass Fermazzi (Emma Campbell-Jones). But Alex was exterminated by the Daleks long ago, and Cass is doomed to die without knowing the Doctor (as seen in 2013 TV minisode The Night of the Doctor) – so the time-travelling trio have their work cut out to navigate the broken timelines.

They must also deal with the Neighbour and the Captain – played by Hattie Morahan and Conrad Westmaas. These mysterious characters sound a lot like the Eighth Doctor’s former companions Helen and C’rizz, but during the Time War, not everyone is who they seem…

Doctor Who: Time War – Uncharted: Reflections is now available to own for just £24.99 (collector’s edition CD + download) or £19.99 (download only), exclusively here

The four stories in this box set are:

 Nowhere, Never by Katharine Armitage

Cass is lost. In her place, a suburban housewife counting the hours until her family returns. But terrifying air raids are ripping through her calm.

The Doctor and Alex are trapped - patients in a strange hospital run by a fearsome Matron. They've both been injured in a war, but neither remembers exactly which war...

They all soon realise that time is not on their side.

The Road Untravelled by Tim Foley

The Doctor, Alex and Cass find themselves on board a strange ship in an even stranger environment.

It’s a place where friends might be enemies, or worse. Where even time cannot be relied upon. And something is out in the Void, following them. Their troubles are only just beginning...

Cass-cade by James Moran

Cass is falling through the timestream of the Universe, splintered in chronology. She keeps encountering the Doctor and Alex, but for them, it's the first time they've met her, each time.

Cass must fight to centre herself, fight for her existence, and fight for her friends to even remember her.

Borrow or Rob by Tim Foley

The Doctor and friends are traversing the Void, pursued by unknown forces – and their grip on reality is becoming ever more tenuous.

As the enemy boards their ship, Alex and Cass edge closer to the truth. And the Doctor faces the consequences of his choices...

Time War – Uncharted: Reflections features the Big Finish debut of actor Amara Karan (best known to Doctor Who fans for her guest role as Rita in 2011’s The God Complex), here playing Sinsa. The guest cast also includes Dan Starkey, Dempsey Bovell, Jon-Paul Rowden, Helen Goldwyn, Nicholas Khan, and Holly Jackson Walters

Paul McGann said: “In all the years I've been doing the Doctor Who stories, it’s novel for there to be a family element, as there is when Alex is around. And it's kind of poignant. But in many of the Doctor’s adventures, there’ll come a point when people suddenly can't trust him – the Doctor’s not always what he purports to be.”

Sonny McGann added: “In the previous Time War release, Alex was offered another chance at life, to grow and be an adult. He has the opportunity to experience things and not have his time cut short. It’s a comparable feeling to being given another chance to play a character.

“But Alex is having an existential crisis of not really knowing what’s happening. There’s something missing – a memory, a detail, a piece of information – which is a throughline in these stories, and Alex is trying to coax that out of the Doctor when the time feels right. ‘What’s the deal? Who am I? Why am I here? What’s going on? Is there something you’re not telling me?’”

And, Emma Campbell-Jones said: “I love playing Cass. She's such a fun character. And I feel very privileged that she's been given another bite at the apple, as it were, to have that adventure that she never took when given the opportunity. She's having a bit of a mare, though – falling through time and space again and again and again and again!”
