The Picture of Dorian Gray - Oscar Wilde's notorious tale of hedonism and corruption - is now available on CD and download, and stars Merlin's Alexander Vlahos in the title role!
When Dorian Gray, a handsome young man about town, makes a wish that his portrait might age instead of him, he could hardly guess that it would mark the beginning of a life of hedonism and debauchery.
Soon enough, his webs of deception and deceit catch innocent victims, some of them his closest friends, and the only evidence of his misdeeds is a long-forgotten portrait in his attic…
This brand-new release from the Big Finish Classics range stars Alexander Vlahos as Dorian Gray, a role he has previously brought to life in Big Finish's original horror series, The Confessions of Dorian Gray, inspired by Oscar Wilde's original novel. Miles Richardson and Marcus Hutton guest star as Lord Wotton and Basil Hallward, alongside Aysha Kala, Ian Hallard, James Unsworth, Paul Jones and Louise Faulkner.
The Picture of Dorian Gray has been adapted for audio by novelist David Llewellyn, and includes a bonus disc featuring the opening episode of The Confessions of Dorian Gray, plus a suite of James Dunlop's evocative music from the series. It's available to download now, and CD copies signed by Alexander Vlahos will be sent out shortly.
In other news, congratulations to David Peat, Robert Holm and Mathilde Nunez who correctly identified The Prophet Bird as the piece playing on the piano in our final week of Confessions competitions!
